According to legends, Shiva resides in Machapuchare - the most beautiful mountain in the Himalayas. At the foot of this majestic mountain lies the village of Chomrong. No roads are leading to the village, and to get there, one must walk for an entire day. However, Chomrong has a basketball court where, several times a year, teams from surrounding villages gather to choose the best. Although the players are not professionals and do not often play basketball, the emotions during the game are as intense as those on the American NBA courts. This is also an important event for local communities, as cultural and sporting events are rare here. It is a celebration for the villagers, a great opportunity to gather as a community and take a break from their daily hard work.
